Most indoor Dracaenas share similar basic needs. They like appropriate indoor light, good drainage, and a chance for the potting mix to dry somewhat between waterings. My general guide covers the basics before you move on to the individual plants.
Dracaena fragrans includes the familiar plants commonly called corn plants. There are quite a few varieties, and their foliage can look surprisingly different even though their basic indoor care is similar.
Corn Stalk Dracaena gets its common name from its long, arching foliage, which can resemble the leaves of a corn plant. This guide covers the basic care I use for growing it indoors.
Mass Cane is one of the classic forms of Dracaena fragrans. It develops thick canes topped with clusters of long foliage and can eventually become a substantial indoor floor plant.
Dracaena marginata looks quite different from the broad-leaved corn plants. It develops narrow foliage on slender canes, giving you a taller, more open-looking indoor plant.
